Bonanza Boutique Hotel
The Bonanza Hotel will be located in the East Village of downtown San Diego, California. The hotel is designed to accommodate visitors from Petco Park and provide them the best experience in the center of the city. The design and experience of the building focuses on Leisure, Luxury, and Sustainability. In term of leisure, the hotel provides various luxurious amenities such as a rooftop pool to entertain the guests, a juice bar, a high-end restaurant, and a wellness center. The concept of the building is to bring serenity to the users and prosperity to the owners, which is where the name Bonanza derived. The Spanish meaning for ‘Bonanza’ is prosperity and tranquility which ties into the concept and experience of our hotel.
Demographics
The site is located in a ‘residential emphasis’ area in East Village, San Diego. East Village is the home to the Petco Ballpark which is about a 12 minute walk from the site.

Form Development
The form was designed to contrast with its surrounding buildings. The building curves starting at the facade on Park Avenue and folds into the entrance to attract guests inside. The form went through various phases. The final form was chosen because it brought a wave-like movement that was intended to bring serenity to the users.
